An eventful weekend came and went. Item of personal
significance: my smartphone took short dip in water, so I’ve spent hours and
hours reprogramming and tweaking software. To make a long story short, I messed
it up real good. Ordered a special programming cable for it online and am now
waiting for shipment and delivery. In the meantime, I ‘downgraded’ to my
husband’s 5-year-old un-smart phone. It does the phone stuff fine, but I miss
all the gizmos, gadgets, and conveniences afforded to me by my currently-dead
Droid.
What does that have to do with knitting? Nothing, besides
the reason I haven’t spent much time working over the past several days…
I finally managed to finish a sock, at least. I like the
convention of naming knitting projects based on the recipient, the inspiration,
a technique, et cetra. I’ve never done it before, but I’d like to start. These
socks are for me, based on the Pine Tree stitch pattern, using the Magic Loop
cast-on with superwash wool, and are knit in the Patons Cameo Colors colorway.
How about the Cameo Tree socks? Meh, if that doesn’t stick, I’ll think of
something.
Of note, taking a decent picture of a sock on my own foot
proved to be a challenge. I did manage to verify this, however: I’m not as
flexible as I was at one time.

Also working diligently on the prototypes to enhance my
ruffle scarves. The key item in the enhancement (a hair clip) arrived
yesterday, along with 137 of its buddies. That’s a lot of hair clips! I just couldn’t
pass up the deal I got from an ebay seller. I only dream of selling 138 of
these things, but it’s a very nice dream. As soon as I have a suitable version
to display, I’ll post a better photo. For now, here’s a peek. There’s a clip
under all those ruffles holding the scarf up like a pin. It's a start!
